05.31.11 DAO Architecture, my employer, received the EDRA Great Places Planning Award for 2011 for the Steel Bridge Skate Park. The Environmental Design Research Association is a scholarly organization recognizing excellence in environmental design and (urban) place making.

05.18.11 The Contingency Ark has been chosen to be included in eVolo's upcoming book documenting the best entries submitted to their annual skyscraper competition from the past 6 years (from over 4000 submissions!).

03.04.11 The opening rendering for The Contingency Ark will be on exhibit at the Dallas Center for Architecture through the beginning of April as part of a collection of winners and runners-up in the 36th Annual Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition.

01.26.11 The Willamette Week discusses the six options proposed to the city to refit the Blanchard site on the east side of the river. With DAO Architecture, I worked on both the Incremental Industrial/"Urban Winery" scheme and the Urban Big Box/Mixed Use scheme. Given Portland's history of blocking big box stores from the city core (to both positive and negative results, given your inclination), that was the scheme that created a bit of conversation.

12.17.10 The Contingency Ark will be published this week in the Nedělní Aha! (Czech Republic).

11.04.10 Received a finalist mention in the Ken Roberts Architectural Delineation Competition this year, professional digital/mixed category.

10.27.10 DAO Architecture, my employer, received an AIA Portland unbuilt citation award for the Steel Bridge Skate Park.

10.25.10 If there's anybody out there actually stumbling upon this site right now, bear with me. I'm in the middle of a pretty slow, drastic redesign using this Indexhibit CMS.
